Speakers at Common Ground 2008
|
Governor Mike Huckabee |
 |
Pastor, public servant and contender for the Republican nomination for President of the United States.
Governor Huckabee will address a private reception for local pastors and spouses on Friday September 12, 2008 from 5:30-7:00 PM.
He will open the Common Ground Summit on September 13, 2008 with a personal book signing at 8:30AM and his presentation to the entire Summit assembly at 9:30 AM.
Governor Huckabee will speak to us about the privileges and challenges of working out our faith in the world. His presentation WILL NOT BE political, but it WILL BE spiritual, uplifting and practical. Whether you agree with Governor Huckabee's political views or not, as a Christian man, you'll have to acknowledge the depth of character it takes to take a stand on the public stage, to be as close as be was to becoming the most powerful man on the planet and refuse to compromise his faith...even if that meant losing the nomination. He has a message for every man that you will not forget. |

Ryan Dobson |
 |
Born in 1970, Ryan Dobson grew up as the second of two children of famous family counselor, author and radio host James Dobson. While many pushed him to follow in his father’s footsteps, Ryan took the time to explore his own gifts while trusting in Jesus as his guide. After graduating from college, Ryan found his natural talent for public speaking, combined with his passion for youth, soon opened countless doors. Ryan traveled extensively for years, challenging youth at music festivals, concert tours, youth camps, and crisis pregnancy center activities. Drawing from his experiences talking first-hand to teenagers and young adults, he wrote his first book, Be Intolerant in 2003.
Understanding begins with communication and Ryan is the ideal speaker to open a window into the hearts of our sons. As Ryan speaks and we hear the powerful testimonies of young men who through their struggles have grown into fine young men chasing hard after God, your perspective will be dramatically changed and your understanding of the younger generation will deepen immeasurably.
